Why do Muslim Fast in the Month of Ramadan?

Someone once asked “Why Do Muslim Fast for certain number of days” during Ramadan. I guess most people might also want to know so i decided to share the reason on this post.

Muslims all over the world observe the annual fast during the daylight hours of Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar, in keeping with a divine commandment documented in
Chapter 2, Vs 183 of the Holy Qur’an. Furthermore, Allah states,

“O you who believe, fasting has been prescribed for you as it has been prescribed to those before you in order that you may attain righteousness.”

In one simple word; Fasting is simply done in order to learn Piety and righteousness. Also,  Fasting is about being kind and showing concern to others.
