In my previous post on basic introduction to using twitter productively, it was mentioned how a commentator said “he would love to know how to use twitter to increase his brand awareness” in which at the end of the post i said, i would share with you some of the tips to gain awareness on twitter and use it effectively.
Today am going to discuss how to but before you continue reading, i trust you already had a twitter account. If you do not, it is completely FREE to Sign Up for one at Twitter.Com. To not beat around the bush, lets get started;
How To Use Twitter To Increase Self and Brand Awareness
- Great and Appropriate Profile – Like all other social media networks, the first thing people are likely to pay attention to when trying to connect with you on twitter is your profile. This is what will gave them a first impression of who you and what they both share in Common.
Use a nice picture of you and fill out your bio in a quite clear way you would LOVE to read another twitter user bio if you want to know about him. - TWEET ENGAGEMENT – “The journey of gaining people’s attention on twitter STARTS with a TWEET”. If you want to know people and also get known, the easiest way to do this is by Tweeting.
Tweets whats relevant to what you fill out in your bio and if you can’t think of something at that precise moment you wish to tweet; share a Joke or retweet a followers’ tweet.
Do also try and reply to some of your follower’s tweet, that sure will earn you awareness and probably payback;)
However do not overdo this as tweets made every seconds could easily irritates a follower esp when the tweet doesn’t portray any meaning. - USING HASHTAG – If you’re a regular reader of this blog, you must have came across the word “hashtag” on at least 2 different blog posts. Hashtag is an easiest way to make your tweets spread wider and faster as it won’t be visible to not only your followers but also twitter users who are searching for the hash tagged word.
